
In recent weeks Amazon has approached a variety of app developers and cable TV providers seeking partnerships for the rollout of its set-top box. Makes sense. Amazon has lots of content, and the Fire line proves people are fine with cheaper direct access at the expense of an open platform.
ReplyDeleteAnd we know they will market the shit out of it. This could be a huge driver for getting more of these types of boxes into living rooms which I’d be very happy about. The more that people use these devices, the weaker the stranglehold by cable companies.
